沉香救母是汉族民间传说故事之一。华山的西峰顶上，有一块十余丈长的巨石齐茬茬被截成三节。巨石旁边插着一把七尺高三百多斤重的月牙铁斧。相传，这就是当年沉香劈山救母的地方。巨石叫“斧劈石”；铁斧叫“开山斧”。有同名越剧、同名秦腔、同名连环画等作品。
