cassie - long way 2 go Cassie 人人都喜欢灰姑娘式的童话故事。2006年夏天，穿上水晶鞋的是一个叫Cassie的黑人姑娘。几乎一夜之间一个慵懒性感的女声，带着一首叫做《Me&U》的歌，抢占了所有电台和夜店。iTunes网站上，这首歌已经成为购买次数第三高的歌曲，而这个叫做Cassie的19岁女孩的个人space也迅速吸引到了超过三百万的点击率。
本名Cassandra Ventura的Cassie凭借着出众的外型，从14岁开始便是一名签约模特。但由于出生在一个有着良好音乐氛围的家庭，她一直尝试着在音乐方面也做出成绩。 2005年，Cassie录出一首歌曲《Kiss Me》作为送给母亲的生日礼物，她把这支歌送到纽约Casablanca唱片办公室的一个音乐制作人手里，恰好遇上了前SONY唱片公司总裁Tommy Mottola，这位慧眼发掘出Mariah Carey和Jennifer Lopez的唱片业传奇人物在试听了Cassie的几首歌曲后立刻产生浓厚的兴趣。
2006年Cassie终于在Mottola的引荐下与Bad Boy厂牌签约，并开始酝酿在8月推出首张个人专辑。

可以说，Cassie进入音乐圈完全是一个巧合。在认识音乐制作人Ryan之后，Cassie的母亲希望她能够录一张CD作为给自己的生日礼物。于是，Cassie找到Ryan，和母亲一起完成了二重唱“Kiss Me”。Cassie的音乐才华打动了Ryan，于是，她得到了与Sony唱片合作的机会。
在步入音乐之前，Cassie曾在Wilhelmina公司做职业模特。她和Adidas、Complex杂志以及Abercrombie & Fitch活动都有过合作。现在在她的个人博客上还可以找到她原来模特时期的照片。
Cassie的音乐节奏感很强，虽然有时会显得有些单调，但她穿透性极强的性感嗓音中和掉了节奏的不足，让人不自觉地跟着音乐摇摆，随着摇摆进入那迷离、放松、性感、挑逗的都市夜生活。
