very做副词时，只修饰形容词或副词，不能修饰动词。
修饰动词必须用alot,alitte,verymuch等。
例如：我非常喜欢英语。

虽然说副词是放在形容词之前动词之后但是Very的用法比较特殊，他有7忌
一.忌修饰形容词或副词的比较级。修饰形容词或副词的比较级，应借助于下列程度副词：much（……得多），still（还要，还），even（更），far（……得多，大大……）。例如：

2.昨天很热，但今天更热。

3.这部电影比那一部好得多。

二.忌修饰动词。修饰动词必须用alot,alitte,verymuch等。例如：

三.忌修饰作表语的形容词alive（有活力的，有生气的），asleep（睡着的），awake（醒着的，警觉的），alone（单独的）等。例如：

四.忌用来加强副词或介词短语的语气，加强副词或介词短语的语气一般用right，有时用well。very只能用来加强形容词的语气。例如：
9.我到处找我的钢笔，可它就在我的口袋里。
误：Ilookedformypenhereandthere,butitwasveryinmypocket.
正：Ilookedformypenhereandthere,butitwasrightinmypocket.
10.这本书非常值得一读。
误：Thisbookisveryworthreading.
正：Thisbookiswellworthreading.
五.忌修饰“too＋形容词/副词”结构，该结构前常用much,all等来加强语气。例如：
11.这件衬衫我穿起来太大了。

12.我们的英语老师讲话太快了。
误：OurEnglishteacherspeaksverytoofast.

六.忌替代“so…that…”，“too…to…”结构中的so和too。例如：
13.他年龄非常小，不能去工作。

14.我非常累，一点也走不动了。

七.忌出现在感叹句中，以免与感叹词重复。例如：
