一、Shake 的基本含义是“来回摇动、抖动、颤动、移动”。从语法上讲，它有自动或他动两种用法。
所谓自动，就是指本身不需要对象就能完整地表示主语的某种动作的动词，也就是不及物的用法，后面不需要跟宾语。如：
They shake and be friends. 他们握手结交。
Leaves are shaking with wind, 树叶随风颤动。
We shook with cold. 我们冷得直打颤。
所谓他动，就是指需要有动作一个对象才能完整地表现主语的动作或作用的动词，也就是及物用法，后面需要跟宾语。如：
He shook the dust from the cushions. 把椅垫上的灰尘拍掉。
She couldn't shake the man off who was following her. 她无法摆脱跟踪她的男子。
He shook me by the shoulder. 抓住某人的肩膀猛摇。
二、常用词组
shake off 抖[弹, 拍]去；摆脱；撵走
shake out 展开，散开；抖掉, 拂去, 摆脱
shake up 摇动，摇醒；受惊吓，使震惊，使慌乱
三、shake 指“上下来回短促而急速地摇动”，是表示抖动的通用词，在不含感情色彩的情况下可以取代下列同义词：
tremble 指“由于外界因素或引起的无意识颤抖”, 如：
She trembled at the lion's roar. 听到狮吼, 她浑身发抖。
The apple blossoms trembled in the wind. 苹果花在风中摇曳。
Quake 指“强烈地颤动”, 如：
The earth quaked. 地震了。
I was so terrified that my legs began to quake. 我被吓坏了，连腿都开始发抖。
shiver指“由于寒冷、恐惧或生病而发抖”, 如：
He shivered with cold. 他冻得发抖。
I was sitting on the floor shivering with fear. 我坐在地板上，吓得发抖
