It is not necessarily true, since literature, history, philosophy etc. are most likely to influece people from general ways of value systems. The specialized skills are quite important as one can make a living with them, however, learning other subjects than your major is also critical in order to expand your mind beyond. Thus, I would suggest that they should be included in curriculum.
