用on 在星期和日期前用介词on, 不管其后有没有其它成分。在年、月、季节等前用介词in，但只要出现日期，就要用on。介词at用在时间、年龄、小地点、会议、工作等前面。
例如： on Monday 在星期一 on Monday morning(s) 在星期一上午 on March 12th/ on 12th March 在三月十二日 on Christmas day 在圣诞节 on Christmas Eve 在圣诞节前夕 on the eve of the great war 大战前夕 on New Year's Eve 在除夕 on the eve of the new year 在除夕 in 2006/in the year 2006 在2006年 in July, 1999 在1999年7月份 on July 1st, 2000 在2000年七月1日那天 on the morning of July 1st, 2000 在2000年七月1日那天早上 in Spring 在春季 in the morning/afternoon/evening 在早上/下午/傍晚 at 10 o'clock in the morning 在上午10点钟 at breakfast time 在早饭时间 at night 在晚上 at the age of 5 在五岁的时候 at home 在家 at school 在学校 at the hotel 在旅馆 at the meeting/conference 在会议上 at the wedding 在婚礼上 at someone's funeral 在某人的葬礼上 at work 在工作, 在运转 at the graduation ceremony 在毕业典礼上 。
